Update on Custom LED License Plate Orders
Hello everyone,
I wanted to provide you with an important update regarding your custom LED license plate orders. First and foremost, thank you for your patience and support throughout this process. I truly appreciate each and every one of you who placed an order.
Last week, I received all of the necessary materials and have been diligently assembling the license plates as quickly as possible. As some of you may know, Code Red Performance is a small business run solely by me, which means that production can take longer than anticipated—especially when working on a large batch of orders.
While all of the license plates have been assembled, I have encountered a couple of issues during the final stages of production that unfortunately require additional time to address. These include:
- Bonding Imperfections: In some cases, the back panel was not bonded with enough clamping pressure or had excessive adhesive applied. This has resulted in minor but noticeable gaps between the back layer and the rest of the license plate. While this does not affect the structural integrity, I do not find it acceptable given the investment you've made.
- Paint Blemishes: The final step before customization involves painting the plates to prevent unwanted light bleed and provide additional protection. Unfortunately, in my rush to complete production, some plates were moved before the paint had fully cured, leading to minor blemishes. Again, while these do not affect functionality, they do not meet my quality standards.
Given these setbacks, I want to offer you the following options on how to proceed with your order:
- I will fix the imperfections and issue a $25 refund on your order.
- If you are okay with the imperfections and would like your license plate shipped as soon as possible, I will issue a $35 refund on your order.
- If you prefer to cancel your order, you may do so with a full refund, including shipping, no questions asked.
While I would love for you to choose Option 1 or 2, I completely understand if you'd prefer to cancel due to the extended wait. This experience has been a significant learning process for me, particularly when it comes to large-scale production beyond 3D printing.
Please review the attached images to see examples of the most extreme imperfections before making your decision. There is no rush to choose an option, and in the meantime, I will continue working to fix as many of these issues as possible.




Important: If I do not receive a response from you before your order is ready to ship, you will automatically receive the $25 refund by default.
